Growing up near the Mississippi River, my grandmother and I would cross the river on a ferry and witness the power and brilliance of this natural entity. The Mississippi river has its own voice and speaks to those who listen. This piece is a tribute to that memory of power and strength. Mississippi I is painted on stretched raw canvas on a handmade frame. This piece is also varnished with a Golden UV Varnish. Sides are finished as an extension of the painting. Wired and ready for hanging.

I am interested in the pureness of childhood fascination and the subconscious decisions that they influence later in life. I am lucky in that I have found way to combine a deep passion from childhood with my true passion for art and I think that that is worth celebrating. My process involves lighting off fireworks on a regular basis. I still get excited every time that I light a fuse.

The Hunters Cabin is a very secluded setting and his so peaceful in the fall changing of the Aspen under Sheep Mountain in Colorado.

Many Glacier is one of the most beautiful lakes in Glacier National Park and as it is protected by mountains on 3 sides and Mt Wilbur right in the middle. In the early morning you can catch the reflections like a mirror before the water becomes a byway to the trails.

As the sunsets on Seaside Beach in Oregon the locals come out to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the end of another day in a truly peaceful setting.

Beauty and the Little Beasts is the first in a series of graphite paintings with little bursts of color. They're all meant to draw our attention to the wonder of color in all of creation. I did think it was funny to add some little stinging, biting beasts to this one. A mini allegory of life.

Homecoming is the second painting in my series of graphite pictures with little bursts of color meant to focus attention on the wonder of color in all of creation. In this one I wanted to highlight the jewellike quality of colorful little Hummingbirds.

Celebrating life with little generic figures and a rhino.

Sunburst is the third in my graphite and colored pencil series. I wanted to not just highlight little bits of color here but rather have the whole painting come to life with color as if the sun were rising and bringing color back after the gray and black of night.
