"Star Attractions" was drawn on my 2.5"x3.5" cellphone screen with my fingertip. The attractions include this whimsical mural in front of the Kansas City Star building, and Two LIght in the background. I like the challenge of using the pad of my finger instead of a stylus on my tiny screen.

Painted " en plein air" (on location) this work was completed in a single session on The Country Club Plaza. Both warm and cool colors lead the viewer's eye throughout the canvas to a single, solitary figure. The use of oil paint and varnish add a luminous glow to the overall canvas - capturing the moment in time and the warmth of that particular summer afternoon.

The West Bottoms area in Kansas City is one of my favorite areas to capture ‘Alley activity’. I especially like the connection on these buildings. I like the show my Notans, revealing the planning.

I am attracted to the theme of “connections” in our city. This watercolor was so much fun. It’s painted on an aluminum panel and sealed with UV protection varnish. Framing without mat or glass gives a watercolor a great presentation.

This piece was created after a great family visit to the KC River Market. It was created on a texture treated art board blocked in with acrylic paint, then embellished with detail using pure pigment pastels.

This is a nighttime photograph of the Kansas City skyline taken from Kaw Point landing. Kansas City is beautiful at night but the reflections made in the river really set it off. Photograph is printed on archival paper with archival inks.
