Sea urchins or urchins are typically spiny, globular animals, echinoderms in the class Echinoidea. About 950 species live on the seabed, inhabiting all oceans and depth zones from the intertidal to 5,000 metres (16,000 ft; 2,700 fathoms). Their tests (hard shells) are round and spiny, typically from 3 to 10 cm (1 to 4 in) across. Sea urchins move slowly, crawling with their tube feet, and sometimes pushing themselves with their spines. They feed primarily on algae but also eat slow-moving or sessile animals. Their predators include sea otters, starfish, wolf eels, and triggerfish.

Sources of light are things or devices that produce light, and the two general sources are natural and artificial. The sun is Earth’s main source of natural light that releases its energy as heat and light. Light travels in waves, usually in straight lines called rays of light. Every wave of light has different wavelengths, which form different colors of light. Rays of light may change direction, bounce off and change speed depending on the type of material they are passing through. One known fact about light is that its speed cannot be matched by anything in the universe.

I was painting with a group of other artists at an Iris farm. I sat in the field of irises and literally watched the flower open and move towards the sun in the three hours. It was like a slow motion movie as I listened to a symphony.

I took this picture during an autumn snowstorm, thus the light colored streaks flying across the scene and the beautiful color of the remaining leaves. I decided to change the picture into a black & white except for the tree. I wanted the tree to stand out and help tell my story that we can almost always find something positive even in challenging and undesirable situations.

In our darkest times, breath is our salvation, for there is a universe in each breath.

Cats are always fun: they do stunts and jump on the furniture, they play with yarn, really everything they do is funny. I like to watch my cat, Puff, chase butterflies and that’s what inspired me to make this painting. I love cats and wanted to paint them in the fun and silly way I see them.

It was exhilarating to watch the colors come to life after spraying it with the water, which in turn guided the piece to become a fall tree. This mosaic table changes dramatically from day to night. The lights reflect and multiply in the deep base of mosaic mirror pieces and the surface design has all the planets (for our home team anyway) and a few visitors from beyond. The base is a very solid and unique vintage design.

Layers of colorful stained, fused and dichroic glass build the depth of these intensely cheerful sunflowers. They are complimented with a custom weathered wood frame.

These set of 4 canvas blocks are mixed media and made through a process of paint pouring. They represent that a beautiful light can rise from darkness. When darkness begins to lift one can begin to experience feelings of warmth, love and undeniable light inside.
