Do we consider the shear kindness bestowed on us every day by those who clean up after us? The materials in this piece are all cleaning supplies. The blue and yellow flower petals are Handi-Wipes® with bright yellow rubber-glove centers. The stringy stems and leaves are strands pulled from used mops. The flower basket was woven from strips of worn-out dish cloths dyed brown with Old English® Scratch Cover, and the sky is from a nylon slip made blue by soaking in Lysol® Toilet Bowl Cleaner. Underneath it all are old towels from the rag bag.

Fabricated from fabric scraps and other leftover textiles, this piece reflects my mother's kindness, not only in all the textile creations she made for me, but also in her generosity to others.

Wooly suit coat fabric and necktie roses bring texture, smell, and image together to recall the many kindnesses of my father.

This painting occurred the night after our neighbor was found in his home by OP police having committed suicide over a divorce gone bad. Though I never met him and didn't know him, I was overcome with the feeling that he had no way out of his broken heart and life.
