Bio:
I studied life drawing for 5 years while earning my degree in Illustration and enjoy painting from my own photographs. I too worked in house as a greeting card artist for Hallmark Cards for 5 years. At 27 I was hit by the reality that I developed the condition of schizophrenia after being successful and an honor student in college with outstanding awards in my field of illustration. In today's times I am now in recovery. I love to incorporate flora and fauna elements from nature in most of my own original designs with some realism and some fantasy in my drawing skills. I grew up in rural Kansas and the landscapes of my childhood haunts often times showing up in my work. I paint with soft pastel lighting with a gentle mood to my work. One of my current projects is to send out to publishers a children's book that I have written and illustrated. I am also teaching art groups at Art Maker's Place a studio for persons with mental health diagnoses ran though Wyandot Inc. Life and wellness is beautiful for me as I continue to learn and grow in my craft and I can truly call myself an artist!
