Bio:
I am an emerging mixed media artist in Kansas City, Missouri. As a self-taught artist, I am drawn to using visual art to tell stories. I am inspired by travel, nature, history and personal narrative. My artwork combines my own photography, vintage photography, ephemera and found objects with layers of acrylic paint, ink, wax and other media. The elements are pieced together by hand on a variety of substrates using traditional and experimental collage techniques. The result is contemporary art with a vintage feel and tangible depth and texture. I embarked on this journey after surviving cancer to live the life on my own terms.
