Norma Herring~Watercolors Website: www.normaherring.com My paintings are very personal expressions of a moment in time when something beautiful or interesting captures my imagination. I’ve always been drawn to watercolors and even after nearly thirty years of experimenting with them I am still enthralled with their vibrant colors, the endless creative ways they lend themselves to be manipulated and the fact unexpected happy accidents occur without fail often leading me down a different path than originally intended. The actual creation of my paintings may take anywhere from days to even years depending on whether I know in advance what I want the final painting to look like...and quite often I don’t! Since I truly paint for myself and enjoy the process I don’t worry about the time involved. Foremost in my thought process and execution is striving to achieve what I see in my mind’s eye using meticulous detail, gold and silver acrylic, iridescent watercolor medium and gel pen.
