Bio:

Carol Kariotis has been creating, teaching, administering and curating art for 42 years. She currently is working with her brother, Jim Veltman, on multimedia work with photography, India ink drawing and batik on rice paper and fabric. Carol most recently served as executive director of two Kansas City arts organizations and had a studio in the Pressroom Studios in Kansas City, Kansas. She is now retired and works from her studio at her home where she does batik, jewelry-making and acrylic painting. Carol serves as Public Arts Chair of the Liberty Arts Commission, Liberty, MO, as a panelist for the MO Arts Council Literary Panel, and as program chair for the River and Prairie Story Weavers. She curates exhibits at three public galleries at Liberty City Hall, Mid-Continent Public Library-Liberty Branch and Liberty Community Center. She also curates exhibits at the Stocksdale Gallery at William Jewell College. As a professional storyteller she performs for community groups, organizations and libraries. Jim Veltman, Carol's current arts collaborator, is a professional counselor in Greys Lake, Illinois. He started doing photography only four years ago and has only recently started working with Carol on multi-media art. They hope to have an exhibit in Liberty in 2019. Jim is also a singer-songwriter and poet.
