Bio:
Ann Ewing Jones is a Retired Art Teacher from NKC Schools. She has taught a total of 37 years. 7 in Tulsa, 3 in Kansas, and 24 in NKC. Three years were spent subbing after she retired in 2013, in both NKC and Kansas (Shawnee Mission Schools). After retiring, Ann spent her time traveling, painting with watercolors and pastels, and taking classes at the Nelson Art Gallery to expand on her skills. She and her husband also keep their grandson 3 days a week when school is out. Ann was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma where much of her family still lives. She moved to Kansas City in 1987. Ann's inspiration for her paintings comes from nature and her travels. She loves the outdoors; her Canadian Rockies and Yellowstone trips were two of her favorites. Deni and Ann recently visited Spain and Portugal. More pictures for paintings! Gardening is another of her interests, as well as cooking gourmet meals. She takes a lot of classes at the Culinary Center in Overland Park. So wonderful to live in a city with so many Art and Culinary opportunities! Ann has exhibited in Paper Birch Gallery, Lenexa City Hall, and the Jones Gallery.
