Bio:
A native of Michigan, Sandra Parrill has made Joplin, Missouri home, where she spent several years in retail horticultural trade and owned a bead store, creating award-winning hand-crafted jewelry and teaching classes. Art has been her passion since she was old enough to hold a crayon and color her world, with forays into many mediums on her journey through life. She has never met an art form she didn’t like, or try at least once, from acrylics and pen and , pencil to personal adornment, wood carving, lapidary and wire wrapping as well as leatherwork, sculpture, and garden art, but drawing and painting have always been her first loves. She seeks to draw out the souls of her subjects, revealing hidden secrets and dreams through the pens and brushes she holds in her fingers. As a writer, Sandra pens a weekly garden column for the Joplin Globe, winning Missouri Writer’s Guild first place award as Best Newspaper Column of 2018.
