Bio:

John Muir wrote, "Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn." Cindy loves to spend time outdoors, actively exploring parks, watching wildlife "do their thing," and catching people having fun. In her still moments, she loves the surprise animal sighting, the slow progression of seasons and reflections moving across water. Nature’s restorative peace is as John Muir has stated. Having grown up in a very active family, Cindy continues to enjoy camping, hiking, canoeing, rafting, and biking regularly. Painting outdoors (en plein air) offers more opportunities to experience nature, although she is often torn between joining in adventures or trying to capture the moments in sketch or quick paint. Originally trained as an architect, Cindy spent years drawing building details and coordinating architectural projects. She also taught Architecture and Interior Design coursework to college students. She enjoyed serving as a mentor for women in non-traditional fields such as Architecture, Engineering and Construction.
