Bio:

ANNE MOLASKY Artist’s Bio A St. Louis, Missouri artist, Anne Molasky received her BFA degree from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1983 where she studied with Wilbur Neiwald. She spent a year studying at the New York Studio School of Drawing and Painting in 1986/1987. She then received her MFA from Washington University St. Louis in 1994. With a love of learning and a desire to continue growing as an artist, she spent a year studying at the New York Studio School of Drawing and Painting, as well as having taken workshops with many artists including Everett Raymond Kinstler and Casey Baugh for portraiture, landscape painting with Scott Christensen and Henry Yan for figure. Since the year 2000, Ms. Molasky has built a thriving portraiture business. She continues to paint portraits of people and animals on commission and has painted portraits for dozens of families in St. Louis, Missouri as well as clients ranging in locations from Cape Cod to Charleston. At 16 years old, Molasky began studying painting and entered her first art competition, where she won in the teen division for her painting to hang at the Salmugundi Club in NYC. In 2016, Ms. Molasky was invited to have a solo exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden as well as at Pearl Gallery in St. Louis in 2016. Other solo shows include The Willows Gallery 2012, Innsbrook Gallery 2011, Lorimeir Gallery in Cape Girardeau MO 2010. Molasky has participated in many group shows including, but not limited to the following Galleries; Buttonwood Art Gallery in Kansas City MO, Penninsula Art Gallery, STLCC Meramec, STLCC Forest Park, Hoffman LaChance, Chesterfield Arts Gallery, Bright Spot Studio, St. Louis Artists Guild. With a love of the outdoors, Molasky is inspired to paint landscapes and participate in Plein-Air competitions around the country. She has been a featured artist in the internationally acclaimed Door County Plein-Air Festival and has received dozens awards from art shows and plein-air painting competitions. Most recently, her awards include the Quick Paint award at K.C. Plein-Air Penn Valley 2017, Quick Paint Award Cape Girardeau Plein Air 2017, Best of Show at Richmond Heights Art Festival 2017, Best of Show for the 2016 Sainte Genevieve Plein-Air Event, Nocturne Painting Award at Steeleville Plein-Air 2016, Dusk to Dawn Award at the Augusta MO Fall Plein-Air 2016, 2nd Place Oil at Town & Country Plein-Air 2016 as well as Best of Show for Art in the Park in Highland IL 2015. Anne Molasky enjoys teaching drawing and painting in her studio as well as en plein-air. She has spent several years teaching Figure drawing and drawing at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. In her more distant past, she spent years painting sets for Theatres, painting murals and even had a shop where she hand-painted furniture.
