Bio:

Fuhrman has earned an MFA, Washington University, and BFA, from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As graduate student, exhibitions include: Greenville College, IL; Chicago's Textile Arts Centre Fiber ’94, juror, Anne Wilson. She exhibited at Barat College's Matter of the Body, 1994. Fuhrman won First Place, Fine Arts, at Smoky Hill River Festival, Salina, KS 2007; had won Second Place, St. Louis Art Fair ,1994. Fuhrman exhibited: AIR Gallery, Chelsea, NYC ; Center for Contemporary Art, Locus Gallery, and Mad Art Gallery, in St. Louis; Lawrence Arts Center; Salina Art Center; Strecker-Nelson Gallery; Pence Gallery, Davis, CA; ArtCentric, Corvallis, OR; Julie Baker Fine Art, Grass Valley, CA, Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery, Lindsborg: Steifel Watson Gallery, Kansas City Artist Coalition, and KS Wesleyan. Emprise Bank, acquired her work. The City of Salina commissioned a 36' x 11' Mexican Byzantine smalti glass mosaic mural designed by Ms. Fuhrman for the Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park. Fuhrman won 2nd place, Wichita CityArts exhibit, juried by, Brian Hinkle. Fuhrman’s images served as stage lighting design for "Interior Landscapes" by choreographer Susan Rieger at Lawrence Arts Center. Nationally, residencies have been at UCROSS; Jentel, both WY; Helene Wurlitzer, Taos; Millay Colony, NY; Studios Midwest, Galesburg; Red Barn Studio, Lindsborg, KS. Fuhrman participated in Salina Art Center's Artist Exchange & exhibit, 2009. Salina Arts & Humanities commissioned Fuhrman’s Smoky Hill River Festival limited edition print, 2013 and 2017. National Railroad Museum, WI featured Fuhrman's photographs 2014 —2015. Kansas City Artists Coalition selected Fuhrman for an exhibit at Underground Gallery, May 2014. Fuhrman’s textile installation “Expurgate” appeared at the Women Empowered Salina Community Theatre event in November.
