Bio:
Gina Westergard’s close connection to the land and its rhythms of inevitable change inspire her jewelry. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in Germany, Australia, Finland and throughout the United States. Her work is published in 500 Vessels, Contemporary Explorations of Containment, by Lark Books, 2007. Reviews of her work in Metalsmith magazine include "Discoveries Within," Summer 2000; "Intimate Assemblages," Summer 1997 and the American Craft Portfolio Review, April/May 1997. Her work was also selected for the 2014 and 2009 Metalsmith Exhibition in Print and she was awarded the Mid-American Art Alliance/NEA Fellowship in 1995. She is currently an Associate Professor of the Metalsmithing/Jewelry program at the University of Kansas. She received her M.F.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington, and her B.A. at San Diego State University
