Bio:

It was a dark and stormy morning. I was born. In a little railroad town called Argentine Kansas. My dad was a Santa Fe crane operator and my mom cooked lots of cherry pies. I was one lucky kid. Somehow I got grounded way too many times and was banished into my bedroom jail. I found my jail would evaporate as I sketched my beautiful backyard with my prized-colored pencils and drew on my blank diary pages. The gorgeous steel garbage can. Dad‘s tomato garden filled with bright red Big Boys. The white sheets that danced from our clothes lines. Dandelions became orange, purple and lipstick red‘s. I added some jungle birds and mice just because. I married at 18. Had kids. Stayed at home. Divorced. 33 years old, scared and in a long, long line to enroll at Johnson County Community College. I liked art. Entered a new program called, “commercial art.” Forward in life. 24 years at Black & Veatch Engineers’ Marketing Group, Kansas City. I was a graphic designer and creative art director. I created ads, designed marketing brochures, painted client’s Holiday Cards, and photographed lots of smelly wastewater treatment plants! Studied design and painting at the Kansas City Art Institute at night. Make money, raised two school teachers. After Black Veatch, married again, sold everything and lived on a sailboat in the Caribbean for a year. Oh..the Great Life. I’ve continued to paint on and off in my life, but now, for the last three years, have seriously taken up painting. Hopefully show in art galleries and any other opportunities that are out there.
