Bio:
VanDillen explores several subject matters in her work, a body which currently includes the cosmos, the ocean, and music. While these things may seem unconnected at a first glance, they all have one thing in common - they bring people together. VanDillen is fascinated by the ability of these subjects to transcend cultural and social boundaries, and create unity. Her intention with these works is to capture the essence of exactly what draws us together, and to recreate that feeling in the viewer. In this way, the art becomes its own channel for creating a bond among viewers, just as music does for lis- teners, the ocean does for surfers, and the cosmos does for dreamers. VanDillen was raised on Florida’s Space Coast, Graduated with a BFA in studio art from Chapman University in Orange, CA, and currently resides in the Kansas City metro area.
