Bio:
Kirstin Novak has been creating all her life. She received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Visual Communications from Washington University in St. Louis. After college, she worked as a graphic designer and later as an art director for a handful of design studios and advertising agencies before owning her own design business. Later, she began teaching graphic design and game art courses at the college level, winning the “Faculty of the Year†award from Westwood College in 2008. Today, Kirstin is a regionally known, award-winning pastel artist. Her work is selected yearly for several juried art exhibitions, most notably: “Visions of the Flint Hillsâ€, “Symphony in the Flint Hillsâ€, “Heartland Artist Exhibitionâ€, “Stems, A Garden Soiree†and “Overland Park Juried Exhibitionâ€. She is a member of the Mid-America Pastel Society and her work can be found in both private and corporate collections and in several galleries in the Kansas City area, Topeka and Council Grove, KS.
