Bio:
Kim has been drawing since she could hold a pencil. She began private art lessons at nine in the traditional methods with oil, pastel, and charcoal. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kansas State University, Kim's pursuits led her to a successful graphic design career in the Kansas City metro. In January 2017, she re-launched her art career with Extreme Graphite, branded with her TAGG ART logo mark. Influenced by the Precisionist graphite style of Charles Sheeler, the passionate traits of Grant Wood, and the artful black and white celebrations of the ordinary by Mable Dwight, her extreme graphite technique emerged as an emotional saturation of tones. Her landscapes are depicted in energetic black and white tones, challenging the viewer to interpret a sunrise or storm without the element of color. And although so much can be said without color, Kim's newest style has incorporated color graphite in powder and liquid form along with Pan Pastels. TAGG ART is represented by Eva Reynolds Fine Art in Overland Park, KS, and SNW (Strecker Nelson West) Gallery in Manhattan, KS.
