Bio:
Sharon Fate I fell in love with photography when I was a little girl. I watched my Dad with his twin lens camera and his 8mm movie camera documenting our family’s lives. Every time we had company, a special event or traveled, my Dad was documenting it. Now we have these wonderful visuals that tell a story of our special moments in time. Through my own personal travels, I have enjoyed studying people…all kinds of people, capturing their personalities, learning about their cultures and the places they live. Capturing the essences of their lives… I have taught both digital and film photography. I have attended Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, Maine, and been a student of 4 different Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. With each new experience, I have come to appreciate the individuality and oneness of our world. However, it is in the practical and well-practiced rituals and celebrations of Kansas City life that I find I do my best art. In recent years, I have been fortunate to serve as the photographer for the World Outreach Foundation in Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines. As well as, taking pictures with the Southwest Dialog Group as we journeyed from Istanbul, Turkey to cities along the ancient Silk Road.
