Bio:
www.butchsmetalimages.com.
butch, a self trained welder, is known for creating sculptures from found and/or new carbon steel. He opened his studio in 2011 in rural mid-Missouri with the guidance of his mentor, Michel Beaudry of Val DavÃd, Quebec. butch’s initial pieces were a potpourri of sculptures evolving into the study of horses now numbering 60. He has been heavily influences by the Cubist movement as portrayed in his use of geometric planes. More recently butch has found interest in pure abstraction. He prefers art that allows the observer to be confused needing closer inspection which abstraction beckons. Works are in 4 states both in private and public collections as well as in multiple short term and long term gallery displays.
