Bio:
Having begun his art career as a fine artist primarily working in oils, watercolor and pencil, Mark Norris began a transition into photography while working as a graphic designer for an award-winning advertising agency. In 2001 he opened Watermark Creative Services where he embraced technology and began a natural transition into digital photography. As a professional designer he found himself shooting a wide variety of subject matter for a client list which included music superstars Elton John and Alan Jackson. His current work consists of capturing an image and then employing traditional darkroom techniques using sophisticated technologies to each a desired effect. His work has been shown throughout the country including a one-man-show at Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin, Missouri and acceptance into the prestigious Photospiva exhibit. "Often shooting at different angles, layering textures and light, I hope to bring a different vision to objects and spaces often overlooked in our daily routines. I see what others often overlook and am drawn to shooting subjects worn from elements and time," Norris says. A 1979 graduate of Carl Junction High School, Norris lives and works in Joplin, Missouri with his wife Kathy and their two dogs.
