Bio:
My interest in art developed at an early age while growing up in the Kansas City area. Both my travels abroad and a degree in fine arts enriched my understanding of creative styles and techniques. Throughout my career I have continued to challenge myself by studying under master artisans as well as working with an array of subject matter. I draw my inspiration from the simple observations made in everyday life. Similar to the skill of writing, art is a visual language that can be used as an effective means of self-expression. Through paint media, such as oil and acrylic, I strive to communicate this aesthetic sense of observation to evoke a range of emotions within the viewer. Both observational and non-representational themes comprise my collection of work and both formats lend themselves well to my fluid painterly approach. Exaggerated color and spontaneous brushwork along with a wet-in-wet technique are the signature characteristics of my expressive style of painting.
