Bio:
My work in ceramics is a dialogue between intention and the inherent will of the clay. I am deeply inspired by the mended, narrative-driven aesthetics of Glenn Martin Taylor and the textured, landscape-informed abstractions of Craig Underhill. Much like their practices, my process is one of constant experimentation, where I alternate between having a clear vision and allowing the material to evolve into its own unexpected form. My practice spans the functional and the sculptural, often exploring the beauty of minimal intervention. Using techniques like slump molding, I aim for a "simple touch" that preserves the raw energy of the making process. In other moments, my work becomes more complex as I layer glazes and test combinations to find new depths of surface and color. For me, ceramics is fundamentally cathartic—a space where "mistakes" are not failures but opportunities for creative fixes and evolution. I do not stay attached to the final outcome; instead, I find my purpose in each rhythmic step of the journey, trusting the clay as a collaborator in my developing personal style.
