Bio:
Kathy is a Mixed Media Fiber Artist combining fibers, metal, ceramics, found objects and plants into her artwork. She is the Creative Art Coordinator at Brewster Place in Topeka, Kansas. Kathy shows her work regionally in the Kansas/Missouri region. She enjoys making art that is bright and upbeat in nature. Kathy has been the designer and Project Manager for two major community quilts in Topeka, KS One that celebrated the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth 150th anniversary of their arrival in Leavenworth Kansas and hangs at University of Kansas St. Francis campus in Topeka, KS and one that involved an entire community during covid celebrating the first 10 years of the NOTO Arts District in North Topeka, KS. Kathy calls Topeka, KS home where she grew up. She lived outside of the region for a number of years pursuing her career in Procurement Services and Merchandising Services returning back to be with her family. She began pursuing her art. She enjoys every opportunity to talk about art with others. She teaches classes in a variety of topics and takes classes to add to her own tool box. Art is definitely her happy place.
