Laurie Colahan I have always worked with the creative process. After retiring from teaching in 2018 I started spending more time painting. I work with watercolor, acrylic and mixed media, moving between floral, nature, and abstracts. Large abstract pieces are the way I'm learning about myself. I love the boldness and the fierce movement of the large brush strokes. I love the energy of the elements in these larger paintings. It's like I'm exploding onto the canvas. The elements of unexpected surprise and experimentation keeps me inspired. The more I paint the more I find paths to learn new things.
