Bio:

Daisha Maria-Breona is a self taught artist from Jersey City, NJ, now based in Kansas City, MO. She began painting in 2012 as a hobby, but after overcoming trauma and a mental health diagnosis, she now uses art as a way to express, meditate, and reground herself. As a Rutgers and Liberty University alumna with a Bachelors in Communications/Women and Genders studies, and Masters in Executive Leadership, many of her themes are supported by her education and encourages inclusivity, self love, freedom, mental health and cultural awareness. Cardboard is used in most pieces as a way to pay homage to her hometown and the origins of hip hop. Each collection is inspired by poetry, music and cultural references as a way to bring awareness and thought to the community. She loves to travel, read, and live out loud. She also credits her faith, family and dog Ziggy as her biggest supporters.
