Bio:
My name is Fred Sumner. I am retired and have not painted for over 45 years. I took a few art classes at Rockhurst College in the 70’ as a way to boost a less that stellar gpa. In the process I found I had a hidden talent. Our daughter bought me a few canvases and acrylics and said to get off the couch. I started w the usual still life’s and landscapes and evolved to abstracts mostly in acrylics. I then moved to oils and most recently oils and cold waxes. My influences are Gerhard Richter, Clyfford Sill, Emily Mason and Brian Rutenberg to mention a few. My website is being updated as on Aug. I am a 70 year old rookie. It is never too late as they say.
