Bio:
Danielle Tarner has always loved and been drawn to art; she sees painting as a magical way of using color to make meaning visible in the world. She enjoys taking art classes and regularly teaches a course at Kansas State University entitled, “Exploring Creativity.” But it was not until early 2020 that Danielle hunkered down and focused her creative sights on learning how to paint. As a result, her themes, techniques, and painterly skills are still being discovered and honed as she continues to learn about the possibilities of acrylic, oil and encaustic medium. Her work has been displayed at The Manhattan Arts Center studio, Downtown Manhattan, KS art spaces, the Columbian Artists Group in Wamego, Kansas where she is member. Danielle was born and raised in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and lived in Winchester, Virginia working as a high school English teacher before moving to Kansas in 2006 to pursue her Masters in Cultural Studies. She currently lives and paints in a little lakeside cabin north of Manhattan, Kansas.
