Bio:
I grew up in a small town (McPherson, KS) where art in the community and schools was not only exhibited, but collected. While growing up, my mother, along with many other things, taught me art appreciation and the beauty and love of nature. I lived in McPherson sixty-five years and while there taught Elementary Education for nineteen years. My husband, Larry, and I raised two daughters in McPherson and we moved to Overland Park in 2006 to be near our daughters and their families. Since moving to Overland Park I have taken painting classes at The Nelson-Atkins Gallery of Art and also from artists Mike Savage, Charles Stegner, and Sarah Bracco. Weekly I paint with a wonderful group of artists who inspire and encourage me in my endeavors. I enjoy bold colors and painting landscapes and florals. My husband and I enjoy traveling and I like using some of our photos for painting inspirations.
