Bio:
Brooks- Elizabeth Billings creates Fine arts and is a seasoned eleven year veteran Art Educator. She received her Bachelors of Science and is certified K-12 with a minor in studio art from Missouri Southern State University. Brooks-Elizabeth is currently the Nichols Upper Elementary teacher at Miami Oklahoma specializing in 4th through 6th grade. Her current body of works consists of bright colorful pieces that are inspired by music’s jazz culture. She works in fibers, photography ,oil paint, watercolor, acrylic, and Ink. In her spare time she volunteers as an artist at George Washington Carver National Monument. She has collaborated and led various projects at the park including Art in the Park, leading and creating an up cycle work shop for home schoolers, Coffee with Carver Adult Workshop and was the lead artist for the G.W.C. Joplin City Hall Christmas “Polar Express†window for 2018. Brooks-Elizabeth also is an independent contractor for the Spiva Center for the Arts. Her Spiva experiences include Summer Art Camps, work shop classes ranging from preschool, the Independent Living Center art program and Birthday party host. Brooks-Elizabeth has also been a part of the Juried Art Shows by S.E.K. Art Festival during, 2014, 2016, 2018, and most recent August 31, 2019. She had created five juried pieces that were auctioned off to support future art grants. She is also a working artist who creates her own Jazzspiration’s and creates custom pieces for clients. She is working towards a federal trademark to market her Fiber designs. She owns the rights to BB’s Collage and More and BB’s Jazzspiration’s. She creates her vibrant works at her private studio in Joplin Missouri.
