Bio:
Rachel Hermes is an emerging artist originally from Wichita, KS. She recently received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with emphases in Painting and Printmaking at Kansas State University. While at K-State, she was awarded several juried scholarships and awards, including the Mary Lucille Dunn Art Scholarship and the Weary Family Scholarship. In 2019, she was awarded a Fellowship to attend a painting workshop, Advanced Painting: Delving into Practice with Rubens Ghenov, at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, CO. She has exhibited regionally in solo and group exhibitions, including the juried Printmaking National Exhibition held at Mark Arts in Wichita, KS. Her work has been published in the 2017 and 2019 editions of Touchstone Magazine as well as two 2019 editions of Live Ideas, a peer-reviewed undergraduate journal. In 2018 Rachel was awarded an Undergraduate Research Scholarship for her contributions to “Transforming Printmaking Through Chemical Innovation,†a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artworks Grant.
