Bio:
More than 35 years after putting away my film camera, I decided to invest in a modest digital camera and dive back into the photography world. Since that time, I’ve discovered that my basic photography skills are rusty but intact. However, the complexities of the digital world are providing for a very tall and very steep learning curve. Luckily, I relish a challenge… I quickly realized my approach to this art form hasn’t changed in the sense of what I look for to photograph and ultimately share. I attempt to discover the nuances of a scene rather than just using light to report what can be seen by the casual observer. This may take the form of a closeup of a flower or an insect, the way the light plays on the water, a city scene that reveals something usually overlooked, or the interaction of clouds and the sun. Successful photographers tend to focus on a specific style or subject matter. My current randomness indicates I’m still finding my voice. Regardless, I‘m enjoying relearning this art form and continuing to learn about our world and how I interpret it.
