"Folly Theater's Art for Art 2025"
March 24th through April 6th, 2025

The Folly Theater presents “Art For Art,” an art and memorabilia silent auction with champagne, wine, soft drinks, and light hors d’oeuvres (plus an online bidding option).

This event celebrates the Folly’s commitment to connecting the community to all art forms in new and exciting ways. Proceeds will support the Folly’s creative programming including the Folly Jazz Series, the Folly Americana series, and the education-enriching Folly Kids’ Series.

"Art for Art" is an art and memorabilia benefit auction supporting the Folly Theater featuring over 100 pieces from local artists as well as signed memorabilia from Folly performers like Dolly Parton! Online bidding will open on March 24 and close at 4pm on April 6.

Submission Details: 

Artists are asked to submit up to 6 pieces to be featured in this auction and benefit for Kansas City's beautiful Folly Theater. This is an opportunity to support one of our city's oldest theaters. There is no specific theme for this exhibition. 

There is no value limit for submitted artwork. The Folly Theater will set a minimum opening bid for each accepted piece of art at 25% of the price listed on your submissions. Artists will receive 35% of the final auction sale price. (For example; If you enter a piece at $500, the minimum opening bid will start at $125, with the goal for patrons to get into "bidding wars" and increase the final sale price. If your piece sells for $125, you would receive $43.75. If your piece sells for $500, you would receive $175.) Support KC's oldest historic theater with your amazing artwork while gaining great exposure for your incredible artistry! 

Deadline to submit: January 15th by 4pm.

Event Details: 

On April 6, from 1-4pm participating artists and interested patrons are invited to see the pieces in person at the historic Folly Theater. Tickets are $10 for entry and include light hors d’oeuvres and mimosas while you browse and bid! Live Jazz music will also be provided.
