FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK, JUNE 1.  5-9PM. 

Join us as we celebrate the 5th Annual Penn Valley Park Plein Air Festival, hosted at Buttonwood Art Space!  This exciting Midtown Kansas City event will include a week-long painting competition held in Penn Valley Park along with a couple of other surprise locations!  Visitors are able to watch the painters turn blank canvases into beautiful works of art.  

Plein Air, meaning "in the open air," is a form of art created entirely outdoors.  Plein Air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and enjoying painting and drawing in the natural landscapes.  

Plein Air KC will kick off with an Artist Reception on May 4.  Artists will paint through May 12 with a culminating Awards Gala on May 12th at Buttonwood! 

This year, we are excited to host 4 Quick Paints in which artists have 2 hours to transform a blank canvas into a beautiful work of art.  Check out the full Art Spectator Schedule HERE!
