"Art & Legacy of Ernst Ulmer"
December 5th through April 24th, 2015

SHOW EXTENDED TO MAY 1st, 2015

This is the last opportunity to purchase an original painting by Ernst Ulmer (1922 - 2009).  A major, regional artist, Mr. Ulmer has incluenced many artists in the Kansas City area and his work in in many private, community and corporate collections. Adept in any medium, Ernst painted in oils, pastel, watercolor and acrylics equally well. He has also painted many large murals in the area--the Leavenworth County Courthouse, Salvation Army building and several churches.

Never succombing to the allure of being "famous", Ernst was an uncomplicated, eternally humble, local artist happy to stay near home and family. His forte was expressing accurate history through genres of pioneers, cowboys and the Civil War.  Early in his career, he helped with scenery at Old Tucson Studios working on sets used for The Rifleman, Bonanza, Little House on the Prarie and as a movie set.

Paintings will be labeled with the appraised value and a lower gallery price.  After this exhibition, major pieces are being donated to museums, colleges and institutions by his family. The family is accepting bids on many of the remaining unsold paintings. Bids will be finalized on May 2nd.
