Bio:

My creative journey began in my youth with sketchbook, pencil, pen and oil paints. There was a tradition in my family of artistic expression. My Mom, Colleen, loved the 19th Century impressionists, her Mom was a watercolor artist, her father sketched with pen and ink, and her sister was a painter. Although my college studies focused elsewhere, I managed to include art and life drawing classes on my schedule. After a long hiatus while raising a family and managing a career, a couple years ago I returned to art, taking classes from a regional Kansas City artist, Loreta Feeback. She introduced me to the beauty of soft pastels. My impulse to create comes from the world around me - landscapes, people, the play of light and shadow. I want to bring out the beauty in life to inspire myself and the viewer. Art is curative and can remind us of the divine in all things!
