Bio:

Teddy says, "Each day brings new insight into the world of color, values, and composition. Feeling the mood of the moment and translating it into a piece of art is an adventure. Learning to see is a lifelong process." 1 Art has been an important part of Teddy's life since the age of 10. Her dear Aunt Norma gave her a set of oil paints and she began to create her visions on canvas. During her years as a Human Resources Professional, she dabbled in painting to relieve stress. She describes standing in front of the easel as her very own personal vacation. An accomplished artist, Teddy has received numerous awards. Sue received a purchase award at the 2014 Augusta, MO Plein Air Festival. At the 2011 Door County Plein Air Festival’s Dockside Quick Paint Competition, comprised of 150 artists, Teddy won 3rd place. In the 2013 Stems Plein Air Paint Out, she won third place. She also won second place at both the 9th and 10th Annual Augusta Plein Air Art Event and the 2011 Stems Plein Air Paint Out. Teddy won Best of Show at the first and third annual George Owens Nature Park Plein Air Paint. One of her painting, "Off the Beaten Track" was on the judges top 10% list at the Missouri Valley Impressionist Society Annual Juried Show at the Albrecht Kemper Museum in St. Joseph, MO. Teddy works primarily in Oil and Acrylic. Her favorite subjects are landscape and equine art, although she has painted a wide variety of subjects. She has taken the opportunity to paint internationally in France and Scandinavia, although she finds her favorite subjects in the Midwest. Teddy began plein air painting in 2006, attending the yearly Augusta, MO Plein Air Events and Stems Plein Air Paint, Overland Park, KS, the Big Cedar Lodge Plein Air Paint Out near Branson, MO.. and the Door County Plein Air Festival, Door County, WI. She is an active member on the Missouri Valley Impressionist Society painting regularly in their Paint Outs and the Annual Brush Creek Art Walk. When she is not painting, Teddy teaches classes and workshops and encourages others to get involved in the art community. She also volunteers her time to several art organizations. Charter Member of Missouri Valley Impressionist Society, Member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painter's Society, American Impressions, and American Artists Association. Past President Summit Art, Co-Chair of the Blue Springs Art League Annual Fine Art Show, www.TeddyJacksonArtist.com
